This autumn, the solar bus station of the Sino-Singapore Friendship Library in Binhai New Area of Tianjin attracted the attention of passing passengers. As the first batch of solar bus shelters in China, the station pavilion integrates 28 thin-film solar cells. By relying on solar power, it can provide functions such as news browsing, e-book borrowing, querying life services, purchasing goods, and city WIFI hotspot coverage.
As a demonstration project to deal with global climate change, save resources and energy, and protect the environment, Tianjin Zhongxin Eco-City actively promotes new energy technologies, develops renewable resources such as geothermal energy, solar energy, wind energy and biomass energy, and promotes green buildings. The solar bus station that landed this time is a typical case.
The solar energy system laid on the top of the bus station comes from Hanergy, a leading energy company in China. In recent years, the company has acquired four technology-leading overseas thin-film solar companies from Solibro, Germany, MiaSole, GSE and Alta Devices, and has mastered the leading copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) and arsenic through successful global technology integration and independent research and development. Gallium (GaAs) technology has enabled China to lead the world in this field for five to ten years.
The solar bus station in the Sino-Singapore Friendship Library is the flexible thin-film battery of MiaSole under Hanergy. As long as there is sunshine, the station can generate electricity by itself and does not emit any pollutants. It is truly low-carbon energy-saving and green. The project is another successful completion of the Hanergy Solar Smart Bus Station solution after Dali, Beijing and Langfang. In the future, with the continuous advancement of the construction of smart bus stations, Hanergy will provide solar energy solutions for more than 70 bus stations in Tianjin Zhongxin Eco-city, providing technological power for building a “prosperous and livable smart new city”.
